Impact of air nanobubbles on the hydroponic growth of lettuce & coriander

Every healthy hydroponic crop begins with a healthy root system. To explore the impact of oxygen nanobubble technology, Nanokriti conducted a study at the Water Technology Lab, Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Ropar, using hydroponically grown coriander and romaine lettuce. By continuously enriching the nutrient solution with oxygen nanobubbles, the system created a more favourable environment for root development and nutrient uptake. The results were evident in both crops. Coriander recorded 27.4% longer roots, 10.8% larger leaves, and 5.7% higher shoot growth, while romaine lettuce showed 25.7% longer roots, 11.4% higher shoot growth, an impressive 78.3% increase in fresh biomass, and 104% higher dry biomass. Beyond the numbers, the treated plants displayed stronger, more uniform growth and healthier overall development. This study highlights how nanobubble technology can naturally improve hydroponic crop performance, helping growers achieve better quality, higher productivity, and more consistent results.
