Case Study- Mehrauli Community Sewage Pond, Punjab

The Mehrauli community sewage pond in Ropar district, Punjab, had deteriorated due to the continuous inflow of untreated domestic wastewater. The pond suffered from severe organic pollution, foul odors, high microbial contamination, and extremely low dissolved oxygen levels, creating environmental and public health concerns for nearby residents. Nanokriti deployed its NanoCloud N-50 nanobubble generator to restore the pond using a sustainable and chemical-free treatment approach.

The objective of the project was to improve the ecological and public health condition of the Mehrauli sewage pond. Using nanobubble technology, the aim was to increase dissolved oxygen levels, reduce organic pollution and microbial contamination, eliminate foul odors, and restore the natural balance of the pond in a sustainable way.

Nanokriti installed the NanoCloud N-50 nanobubble generator, which infuses ultra-fine oxygen nanobubbles into the pond water. These nanobubbles remain suspended for long periods, improving oxygen transfer and supporting natural biological processes that break down organic waste and suppress odor-causing compounds.

Within weeks of operation, the pond showed clear improvements in water quality. Dissolved oxygen levels increased while BOD and COD reduced significantly, and microbial contamination such as E. coli declined noticeably. Foul odors disappeared, water clarity improved, and aquatic life such as ducks and fish began returning to the pond, indicating the recovery of the ecosystem.
