Reducing oxygen consumption from ~2,000 kg/day to 200 kg/day while enhancing microbial efficiency in rice straw-based micro-aerobic digestion.
The Thermax Bio-Gas Plant in Sangrur, Punjab faced a major operational challenge, high oxygen demand and cost-intensive aeration due to the complex nature of rice straw digestion. Traditional air diffusers required nearly 2,000 kg of oxygen per day while delivering limited microbial efficiency.
Nanokriti addressed this by installing the Virat N500 Nanobubble Generator, enabling highly efficient oxygen transfer at the microbial level. As a result, oxygen demand was reduced by 90%, bringing it down to just 200 kg per day. This significantly lowered operational costs while improving microbial activity and overall process efficiency.
The upgrade not only enhanced plant performance but also improved the economic viability of rice straw-based biogas production, making operations more sustainable and resource-efficient.
